CK Raut: The government attempted to rescind the 11-point agreement

CK Raut, the chairman of the Janmat Party, has accused the government of reversing an agreement with them by removing Section 64 of the Nepal Acts (Amendment) Bill. The removal of Section 64, according to Raut, represents a break from and betrayal of the political consensus. The removal of lawsuits against party officials and activists was part of the 11-point deal that was struck in March 2019, although it hasn’t been completely executed.

Although Raut maintained that the agreement was to be addressed by enacting a legislation or ordinance, the matter has not been dropped. According to Uday Raj Sapkota, secretary of the Ministry of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs, accusations against party officials and activists have already been dropped. No case against party leaders has been dropped, Raut said in response to Sapkota’s comments.
