Through a replacement bill, the Nepal Communist Party (UML) and the National Cooperative Federation Limited Nepal have suggested changing a few sections of the Ordinance on Cooperatives. The goal of the proposal is to amend the regulations that prohibit anybody from being elected or serving as a director of a cooperative organization whose primary activity is savings and loans, as well as the prohibition on someone holding the same post for more than two terms in a row. According to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, the ruling party should be consulted on the suggested concerns and they will be considered.
