Restoring the Army within its constitutional limits: Imran Khan

In an open letter to Army the chief Gen. Asim Munir, former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan denounced the military’s illegal activities and political meddling. Khan claimed to have suffered abuse while incarcerated, including spending 20 days in a death row cell without power or sunlight. For more than a year, he has been detained at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi. Khan said that a military official at Adiala Jail had planned his harassment and infringement of his rights.

He said that for 20 days, he was kept in total seclusion without access to literature, power, or sunshine. Khan further claimed that by refusing to meet with his wife, Bushra Bibi, police were breaking court orders. He cautioned that ongoing activities against PTI were escalating popular discontent and that, in the absence of corrective action, the growing rift between the people and the military may turn into a hazardous national security fault line.
