After US-Russia negotiations, Trump blames Ukraine of being uncooperative

In response to President Volodymyr Zelensky’s dissatisfaction that his nation was not invited to Saudi Arabia for negotiations on resolving the war with Russia, Donald Trump has taken a stand on Ukraine. Zelensky said that Ukraine could have reached an agreement and accused the country of inciting the conflict. In the first high-level in-person meetings since the invasion, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov visited US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Riyadh. To begin negotiating the end of the conflict, they decided to assign teams.

Lavrov declared that under any peace agreement, his nation would not allow NATO peacekeeping personnel in Ukraine. According to British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, a “US backstop” would be necessary for any peace agreement including Ukraine in order to prevent Russia from attacking its neighbor once more. The smiles on Russian and American faces in Riyadh will worry the Ukrainian president, who did not reach a consensus on a single stance at the Paris discussions.
