The government has recommended to the President to convene the National Assembly session. The Cabinet meeting held at Singha Durbar today recommended to convene the session of the National Assembly under the federal parliament for Sunday, Magh 4, at 11 am, informed the government spokesperson and Minister for Communications and Information Technology Jagadish Kharel.
The meeting has decided to provide US$ 350,000 for the reconstruction of the Archives of Mahamuni Phaya (Buddhist Pagoda) and Gangaghat Temple in Myanmar, which were damaged by the March 2025 earthquake. The Council of Ministers has approved the annual contribution of US$ 283,503 for 2024, which Nepal must pay as a member country of the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD).
The Council of Ministers has approved the Financial Sector Strategy (2082/83-2086/87) and the National Policy against Human Trafficking, 2082. Minister Kharel informed that the meeting decided to appoint Govinda Prasad Bhandari (Bhaktapur) as the chairman of Gorkhapatra Corporation.
