Nepalese farmers face problems when Indian milk is imported

Nepalese farmers are having difficulty selling and distributing Indian milk in rural markets such as Nepalgunj. The open sale and distribution of Indian milk has harmed the market and destroyed the livelihoods of Nepali farmers.
There has been no record of milk flowing in from India in recent days, and neither the Animal Quarantine nor the Nepalgunj Customs Office keep statistics. Suryalal Yadav, the head of Duduwa Rural Municipality-5 Kamdi, stated that milk imported from India has begun to be marketed and distributed at a low cost, making it difficult for local farmers to find a market.
Bhandari advocated for the immediate ban of milk and dairy products entering Nepal due to revenue loss caused by illegal imports and non-selling farmer-produced milk. He proposed that quality testing and market monitoring of milk and items coming into the market be conducted openly, without registration or testing by any organization.
