Finance Minister Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat indicated that the Nepalese economy is recovering, with inflation at 8% and bank interest rates at 16%. He ascribed this to large investments in real estate and the stock market. Mahat chastised the previous government for haphazardly delivering projects, resulting in increased financial responsibility for the current government. He underlined the need and necessity of a coalition administration in bringing prosperity to the nation.
