Tokha Municipality has begun the process of removing unlawful constructions along the Bishnumati River in order to make the corridor more beautiful and tidy. The town established a ‘Public property Protection Committee’ to defend public property, and constructions built along the river’s banks were demolished by dozers. The committee also took down buildings in front of a luminous school in Tokha Municipality-8. The initial phase of the demolition will cover structures along the Bishnumati Corridor between Manorath Tirtha and Tokha Police Station. The municipality is seeking to conserve approximately 1000 plants in Tokha that have been encroached upon public land. Locals have obstructed the removal of the structures, thus the municipality has issued a notice to locals to dismantle the constructions placed on public land.
