Arun Kumar Ranjitkar, Joint Secretary and Engineer in the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, has been found guilty of corruption by the Supreme Court. A combined bench consisting of Justices Prakashman Singh Raut and Hariprasad Phuyal delivered the decision. After 11 years, the Supreme Court maintained the special court’s conviction of Ranjitkar. Ranjitkar received a sentence of one year in prison, 45 lakhs 45 thousand 503 begos, and a bego-sized fine.
