Prime Minister Fumio Kishida has declared that Japan will invest an additional 660 million US dollars to rebuild earthquake-damaged districts. The declaration came after an investigation of the afflicted districts, which were devastated by a 7.5 magnitude earthquake on January 1, 2024. The earthquake wrecked numerous buildings, roads, and started a big fire. 241 individuals have been confirmed killed, and more than 10,000 people are seeking refuge in shelters and hotels. The government will sanction an additional spending of approximately 100 billion yen ($660 million) from the current fiscal year’s reserve fund. This is the third allotment of emergency money for the New Year’s Day earthquake recovery efforts, which are now anticipated to cost more than 260 billion yen ($1.7 billion). The latest funds are intended to fund a grant system that assists young people and families with children in rebuilding their devastated homes.
