Cancelled the export licenses of Huawei’s suppliers

Following the launching of Huawei Technologies’ first AI-enabled notebook, the MateBook X Pro, the United States canceled permits for firms to send goods to the Chinese telecoms equipment company. This decision comes as Republican legislators advocate for more action against Huawei. The move might also have an impact on Huawei, which still uses Intel CPUs in its laptops, as well as US vendors. Huawei was placed on a US trade restrictions list in 2019 owing of monitoring fears. However, Huawei’s suppliers have received billions of dollars in licensing fees to market their products and technologies. Qualcomm has been selling outdated 4G processors to devices since 2020, but it continues to license its 5G technology to Huawei.
