The Standing Committee of the 14th National People’s Congress (NPC) wrapped up its eighth session in Beijing Tuesday.
During the last meeting, parliamentarians voted to approve a new Law on Protecting State Secrets. President Xi Jinping issued a presidential order to implement the law.
Zhao Leji, head of the National People’s Congress Standing Committee, presided over the concluding meeting.
