committed to increase capital budget spending: Chuman, Finance Minister

Hari Bahadur Chuman, the recently appointed Economic Affairs and Planning Minister of the Gandaki Province Government, has committed to increase capital budget spending. He directed staff to boost the state government’s capital budget expenditure and declared that the administration will concentrate on resolving provincial policy issues, improving industrial infrastructure, and broadening revenue scope. Chuman has also established the ‘Invest Gandaki’ project, an investment conference in Gandaki hosted by the Ministry of Economic Affairs. The initiative will look into public-private partnerships and private investment, with an emphasis on tourism, agriculture, industrial infrastructure, and hydropower. The research team, coordinated by the Secretary of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, will develop a project idea to attract investors. Chuman was appointed on March 25 and transferred to the ministry on Saturday. He is a member of the Maoist Center’s Gandaki Provincial Assembly.
