Tokha Municipality has established Rs 5,000 financial support programme for high blood pressure and diabetic patients in the region. The project will help the poor, single women, survivors of mass movements, Dalits, women community health volunteers, marginalized and endangered patients, and permanent residents over the age of 50. According to the chief administrative officer, Sher Bahadur Bisi, patients must provide citizenship, a permanent residency identification, a doctor’s prescription, and a pharmaceutical bill. The municipality has also started the ‘Mayor Longevity Free Health Checkup’ initiative, which aims to give free health checks and medication delivery to elderly persons over the age of 60 in the city.
