The House of Representatives meeting in Kathmandu was attended by opposition parties who expressed concerns about the government’s handling of issues presented at the last meeting. Padam Giri, the UML top whip, has urged for action against those responsible for the little girl incident as well as the fire that engulfed Physical Infrastructure and Transport Minister Prakash Jwala’s vehicle. The opposition has also rejected the Lumbini lease agreement and asked that the government respond to the demonstrations of meter-busting victims in Kathmandu. They have also claimed compensation for farmers whose animals perished from lumpy skin disease. Speaker Devraj Ghimire noted that the Parliament has already decided to answer the issues made by the opposition parties during the previous meeting. During the meeting, Ghimire is about to present the notice of opposition to the plan to propose the ‘Political Party (Second Amendment) Bill, 2080’.
