Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa has said that he became a candidate in Sarlahi-4 with the desire to deepen relations with Madhesh. Releasing a video message today, the day he reached the constituency, six days after registering his candidacy, President Thapa said that the Madhesh affiliation should not be made merely formal. He said, “While representing Madhesh and understanding its issues, I believe that I can solve Nepal’s entire problems through diversity.”
He said that he wanted to become closer to Madhesh by becoming an election candidate because his family, who came down from the mountains, is from Kathmandu. He said that he wanted to tell the stories of Madhesh in Kathmandu and tell the stories of Kathmandu in Madhesh. He expressed gratitude to the voters of Kathmandu-4 for electing him three times. He mentioned that there were more suggestions that the constituency should not be changed after he was elected. President Thapa, who said that he did not believe in the politics of incitement, commented that there could be no unity among all without authority.
