For the upcoming local level by-elections on Mangsir 16, which will center on local development and economic change, the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Socialist) has declared plans to work with like-minded parties. The party places a high value on collaboration and unity, backing alliance candidates in regions with little organizational impact and looking to other parties for assistance in areas where its organization is strong. Candidates will be chosen by the provincial committee based on topics related to economic change and local development. Although it will not make coalitions with government parties, the party, which has about 150,000 members, would suggest candidates among its cadres and experienced leaders. The deadline for registering nominations for 44 open municipal seats has been established by the Election Commission.
