S.Jaishankar, the minister of external affairs, will be in Perth, Australia, on February 9–10 for the 7th Indian Ocean Conference. The Ministry of External Affairs, in collaboration with the India Foundation, organizes this annual conference, which this year’s theme is “Towards a Stable and Sustainable Indian Ocean.” The S Rajaratnam School of International Studies in Singapore, the Perth-US Asia Center in Australia, and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Government of Australia are all partners in organizing the conference. Six multilateral organizations, senior officials from sixteen countries, and ministers from over twenty-two countries will be represented at the meeting. More than 400 business and social leaders, practitioners of public policy, academics, professionals, and members of the media from almost 40 nations will also be present at the conference. The first Indian Ocean Conference, which took place in Singapore in 2016, was significant in bringing together the key maritime nations of the area.
