Literature, Art and Drama Festival 2080 has started from today at Mahendra Narayan Nidhi Mithila Culture Center in Janakpurdham. The festival is going to be conducted for the development of Maithili language, literature, art, culture, economy and tourism.

Organizer Maithili Development Fund President Jeevanath Chaudhary said that the festival will last till January 22. About 20 different topics will be discussed at the festival. President Choudhary said that the cultural tableau, Mithila painting workshop and exhibition, multilingual drama, Mithila food and book exhibition, school-level elocution competition will also be organized as a joint project of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism of the Madhes State Government, Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan Municipality and Maithili Development Fund.

Artists from Nepal and India will perform eight plays at the festival. On the first day ‘Hiunko Prithvi Yatra’, on the second day ‘Tinita Rangin, Virju Wiltu Aa Babu’, on the third day ‘Manch, Kant’, on the fourth day ‘Samachko Samachko Aviha He, Dukhahi Janam Bhel’ and on the fifth day ‘Jogaad’ will be staged.

In the festival, there will be performances by well-known artists and singers from the Mithila region of Nepal, India. Ranjana Jha, Priya Mallik, Sunil Kumar Mallik, Abhash Lab, Naveen Mishra, Poonam Mishra, Priyaraj, Lalit Kamat, Neha Priyadarshini, Amar Anand, Harishankar Chaudhary, Raviraj Sah, Subhash Virpuria, Julie Jha, Ramnarayan Thakur, Mohit Khandewal, Hriday Ramay also participated. will remain

Chowdhury, the chairman of the fund, said that scholars, clowns, social campaigners, artists and politicians from Nepal and India will participate in the festival.

The festival, which was organized every two years by the fund established in 2058, has been going on continuously since 2073. Chowdhury informed that it is estimated that 52 lakhs will be spent on the festival, 20 lakhs by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism and 8 lakhs by the sub-metropolitan city and the remaining amount by the management fund.
