Minister for Communications, Information and Technology Jagadish Kharel has resigned from his post. He resigned from the post of minister after it was confirmed that he would be the candidate of the National Freedom Party (NFP).

He resigned from the post after meeting Prime Minister Sushila Karki. The NFP is making him the candidate from Lalitpur-2. Kulman Ghising, who was previously the Minister for Energy, and Minister for Sports Bablu Gupta had resigned from the Karki-led cabinet.

Ghising is preparing for the election by forming the Ujjaj Nepal Party under his own leadership, while Gupta is preparing to contest the election from the NFP.
