Madhukumar Marasini, Nepal’s Finance Secretary, has requested for additional concessional assistance from development partners, especially the Asian Development Bank (ADB), to meet the country’s economic and development issues, which have been undermined by the Covid-19 epidemic. Marasini stressed the importance of collaborative efforts to transform South Asia into an emerging economic growth area, as well as interdependence, innovation, and digitalization to improve interregional commerce.
Nepal’s economy has been impacted by global economic issues, resulting in poor development and stagnation owing to revenue deficits and rising debt commitments. Marasini underlined the significance of collecting public funds to achieve economic prosperity, transition from underdeveloped to emerging countries, and sustainable development goals. He also praised the ADB’s work in fostering an investment-friendly environment for comparative advantage industries like as tourism, hydropower, and information technology.
