The selling of meat and alcohol has been prohibited in the Pashupatinath temple region of Kathmandu for the Mahashivratri celebration on March 08 . The District Administration Office issued a notice prohibiting the sale from the Gaushala-Mitrapark road to the east, from the east border of the Pashupatinath region to the west, from the Gaushala-Tilganga ring road to the north, and from Guhyeshwari to the south via Mitrapark-Umakund-Gaurighat. The Development Fund has resolved to prohibit the manufacture, sale, transportation, storage, and consumption of meat, alcohol, and narcotics within specified char forts in the Pashupatinath region. The area is being adorned for the festival, but no special passes have been arranged for this year.
