According to Chief Administrative Officer Omprakash Devkota, the Rapti Sonari Rural Municipality in Banke expects to collect more than Rs. 1 billion in river goods. The contract was signed for Rs. 1 notwithstanding a loss in revenue collection from non-contracting the prior year. The contracting process has been successful since the previous fiscal year.
Chur Construction and Dhakal Suppliers have agreed to a lump sum contract for river materials for all five ghats. Contracts for Bagdailaghat, Sidhniaghat, Alinagari, Khallatpari Ghat, and Jalalaghat have all been signed. Chairman Patta Bahadur Paudel stated that a timely contract agreement has decreased theft and extraction issues.
