The Socialist Front, a four-party opposition group in Nepal, has declared a threat from royalist forces on three major issues, urging for a large street protest. A meeting at the CPN office in Aloknagar concluded that the situation is serious and action is needed.

The front’s spokesperson, Khadga Bahadur Bishwakarma, stated that regressive forces, once overthrown by the Nepali people, are attempting to resurface, threatening the republic, national sovereignty, and socialism. Bishwakarma emphasized that the presence of royalist and regressive forces is a direct threat to the republic, national sovereignty, and socialism achieved through the people’s struggles.

The meeting decided to organize a large protest rally to resist these regressive forces, with widespread public participation expected. An interaction program with intellectuals and civil society leaders will be held tomorrow to plan additional protest activities.
