Spokesperson for the Nepali Congress, indicated that the country’s economic index is progressively improving, but that the economy is still under strain. He underlined the Congress’s adherence to democratic socialism values and stressed policies of economic growth, equal distribution, greater production, job creation, and social security. He also stated that the key subjects of economic and budget reform announced in the fiscal year 1980-81 budget are being implemented. The Economic Procedures and Financial Responsibility Act of 2076 has been revised in Parliament to strengthen existing policies and initiatives. A new policy for international development aid has been developed, with a focus on obtaining loans based on need and reason.
