The accuracy of Nepal’s export trade data has been challenged by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who claims that they are fraudulent. According to him, there can only be true commerce when products are made and sold. He also emphasized how few people in Nepal save money, saying that savings from not eating are not the same as saves. He stressed instead that savings may be attributed to lowering the hazardous usage of goods like cigarettes and bidis.
