The government is prepared to modify the required policies to attract investment: Minister Bhandari

Minister Damodar Bhandari has stated willingness to change rules to encourage investment from non-resident Nepalis, advocating trust in the appropriate business climate and encouraging non-resident Nepali groups to take the lead. The president of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) presented Bhandari with a memorandum requesting legal and policy changes to encourage non-resident Nepalis’ investment and knowledge, skills, and technology in order to create a prosperous Nepal, create jobs, foster entrepreneurship, and develop infrastructure. Dr. Badri KC stressed the need of an integrated collecting center for export, including quality inspection and packing, as well as a policy that allows certification and ‘fumigation’ from the same location in Nepal.
Dr. Analraj Bhattarai, Chief Executive Officer of NRN Nepal Development Fund Limited, urged that the scope of investment be expanded by selecting investment locations in collaboration with the Nepal government to collect money for infrastructure development. The NRNA Nepal Development Fund Limited is an investment fund of Rs. that is meant to execute policies, strengthen the capacity of small and medium-sized companies, lower prices, establish warehouses internationally, give accessible transportation modes, and enable airspace for exporting products.
