The Ministry of Finance is accepting applications for the position of chairman of the Nepal Insurance Authority, which will be appointed by the Nepali government. In addition to five years of extensive managerial work experience, the role demands a minimum master’s degree in insurance, finance, banking, commerce, management, public administration, statistics, mathematics, economics, or law. The applicant must be under 65, hold a foreign permanent residency status, and be free of criminal convictions. Applications may be canceled by the recommendation committee for any reason. The Authority lacked a leader as a result of a lawsuit brought by the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority against its former chairman, Surya Prasad Silwal.
