Bagmati’s Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development has initiated a PPR vaccination campaign to manage and prevent the disease in sheep and goats. Approximately five lakh goats have been vaccinated, with thousands more added since the second day of the program. The program started on February 16 and will run until February 22, with the goal of vaccinating 1.5 million sheep and goats. However, thousands of sheep have not yet been vaccinated. According to Dr. Gouriman Shrestha, Director of Bagmati Province’s Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries Development Directorate, the campaign’s goal is to prevent farmers from huge losses caused by PPR illness.
