Under the leadership of Navin Budhathoki, the youth of Bhojpur, Nepal, have brought back the ancient Lakhe dance as a way to preserve and transmit the local way of life. The dance, which was first performed by the Newari community, features jhamta, thakthuke, ropai, drums, and comedic shows. The young are encouraged to promote Nepali art, culture, and customs as they have received training in maintaining the culture. The dance is carried out across the Bhojpur municipality at a variety of locations till the day following Krishna Janmashtami.
