Erika Gurung and Biplavlal Shrestha will represent Nepal at the USA Open International Karate Championship in Texas, USA, from March 26 to March 31. Erica earned two medals: silver in the 19th Asian Games and gold at the 13th South Asian Games. She will compete in the Women’s Over 68kg division, whilst Biplavlal will fight in the Men’s 84 kg weight category. Deepak and Kushal Shrestha are the competition’s coaches. The Nepalese squad will leave for America today and tomorrow, with Tangklal Ghising, member secretary of the National Sports Council, wishing them well.
