Two new instances of Kalazar sickness have been identified in Jhapa, the district where the ailment was originally reported last year. The afflicted persons were discovered in Virtamod Municipality-5 and Shivasatakshi Municipality-6. Blood tests are being carried out in impacted communities, and the health office is undertaking market research in collaboration with stakeholders. Calazar is spread by the bite of a female sandfly, Lismania, and symptoms include liver blackening, fever lasting more than two weeks, and eyelid enlargement.
