The Gandaki state government has removed Social Development Minister Sushil Simkhada and Physical Infrastructure and Transport Minister Resham Bahadur Jugjali, both of whom joined the cabinet from the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Center). These ministries now report directly to the Chief Minister. Provincial Chief Prithviman Gurung established the Council of Ministers and apportioned functions in accordance with Article 168 of Nepal’s Constitution. Chief Minister Pandey is in charge of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers, as well as the Ministries of Social Development and Health and Physical Infrastructure Development and Transportation. Saraswati Aryal has been appointed as Minister of Energy, Water Resources, and Drinking Water.
