Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Nepal’s Prime Minister, has stated that a trilateral electricity trade deal will be inked, allowing Nepal to export up to 40 megawatts of electricity to Bangladesh. He also noted that electricity commerce has improved with India and Bangladesh and is expanding to China. However, Dahal emphasized that Nepal’s energy infrastructure must be improved in order to realize its full potential. He also emphasized Nepal’s position on the global arena in terms of climate justice and equity, citing the country’s recent efforts to solve the climate problem, including the visit of UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and its presentation at COP-28 in Dubai. Dahal stressed that, while the administration has made tremendous progress, it is insufficient to meet the country’s needs and potential.
