Nepal and Australia have inked a trade and investment pact. According to his secretariat, the deal was struck during Foreign Minister NP Saud’s visit to Australia. Tim Watts, Australia’s assistant foreign minister, and Kailashraj Pokharel, the ambassador of Nepal to Australia, signed the agreement. The deal was signed in front of Australian counterpart Penny Wong and Foreign Minister Saud, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Following the signing ceremony, the foreign ministers of both nations expressed their belief that the agreement would be crucial to advancing the cordial ties between Australia and Nepal.
The agreement was signed by Australian Assistant Foreign Minister Watts, who stated that people-to-people contacts now exist between Australia and Nepal. Nepal and Australia are close allies. We are entwined to the level of individuals. Following the agreement’s signing, Watts posted on the social network Xma on how quickly the Australian community of Nepalese descent is expanding. Watts was in Nepal the previous year. He recalled that he had spoken with the leaders of several sectors and the Nepali government about measures to strengthen bilateral relations during the visit. Furthermore, he recalled that he had brought up the topic of strengthening the two nations’ economic ties during his discussion with Foreign Minister Saud.
Following that conversation, representatives from the two nations met multiple times to explore formalizing a deal that would deepen their economic ties.
