Kathmandu, Various religious organizations and experts have claimed that the Constitution of Nepal 2072 has failed to provide equal protection to all religions.
The participating organizations and guests of the program at the Interreligious National Round Table Conference 2082 made this claim. Wishing the success of the conference at the inaugural session of the Interreligious National Round Table Conference 2082 that began in Kathmandu on Monday, Bhadra 23, 2082, former Minister and Constituent Assembly member Honorable Bishvendra Paswan said that the Constitution has not been able to give equal rights to all religions and has not been able to protect all religions equally.
He said that because the Constitution has not protected all religions equally, all Nepalis are not in a position to say that this Constitution is ours. At the same program, former Minister and Vice President of Dharmodaya Sabha Prof. Dr. Keshav Man Shakya said that it was a noble work to bring all religions together at the Interreligious National Round Table Conference and said that this work should be emulated at the international level. He claimed that even though 81 percent of Nepal’s population is Hindu, that statistic is wrong. Social activist Dr. Mitra Pariyar said that even though an independent person can tell the truth, a person affiliated with a party cannot. He said that the current constitution and various religions have still not been able to provide rights to Dalits. Wishing the conference success, Dr. Mahendra Lawati suggested the organizers to hold such interfaith conferences in every village, as the conference will inspire people of all religions to increase mutual harmony. Nine different religious communities participated in the inaugural session organized at the Ristaya shava Ghirha in Kathmandu.
After chanting mantras and praying according to their respective religious beliefs and beliefs, the program began with the recitation of mantras and prayers by Professor Pandit Ramchand Bhandari, President of the Vedic Sanatan Karmakanda Federation from Hinduism, Guru Tshiring Lama from Buddhism, Religious Guru Mouna Mohammad Salman Mitahi from Islam, President of Kirat Hadsam Madtim Keter Singh Bodhahad from Kiratism,
In the inaugural session, Bahai representative Shobha Poudel said that God is one and that religion is necessary for the unity and peace of all human beings. The conference advisor, Captain Dev Kumar Buddhist, said that he respects all religions equally and said that the message of the conference, which was held to include all religions, should be carried out at the international level and the United Nations. Christian pastor Surya Bal Tamang emphasized again that it is necessary to create an environment where people can freely pursue their desired religion.
On behalf of the Kirat religion, Dangdhoj Khoyahang of the Kirat Religion and Literature Upliftment Association, and on behalf of Islam, Maulana Nazrul Hasan, President of the Islamic Association Nepal, emphasized that all religious followers should collectively raise their voices for the benefit of all religions. Naveen Lingden, Vice-President, Kirat Dharma and Literature Upliftment Association Central Committee, Surya Bikram Chemjong, Central Member, Kidh and Sau Association, Father Silas Bogati, Member, Christian Catholic Community, Father Jagat Wagle, Member, Believers Diocese Community, Pastor Dilliram Poudel, Co-Chairman of Nepal Christian Society, Pastor Uddhav Chimoriya, Member, National Christian Federation, Nepal, President and others were invited.
The program, which was supposed to be inaugurated on the 23rd, was closed on the 24th and concluded on the 25th, but was interrupted due to the protests and the press conference scheduled for the 25th is being held on Asoj 1. The inaugural session was chaired by DeKendra Singh Thegim, while the program was conducted by DR chhering Yonjan, Coordinator of the Communication and Public Relations Committee of the Inter-Religious National Gonmech Conference 2082.
